International Committee
Overall Purpose/Mission
Direct and review the international activities of the Academy.
Charges
1. Comply with the Strategic Plan as adopted by the Board of Directors, and ensure that the organization-wide goals of unity and diversity are considered in all activities.
2. Plan and conduct overseas education programs with diverse international groups, with an appropriate balance between mission-driven and revenue-generating programs.
3. Identify new market opportunities for AAOS education programs and products and help identify opportunities for licensing and/or content customization opportunities that are both educationally relevant to domestic markets and revenue-generating for the AAOS organization.
4. Increase international participation in Annual Meeting through annual international education events and other relevant activities
5. Through educational activities an exposure, help drive increases in international membership in AAOS and expand our customer base.
6. Sustain a high level of communications and nurture relationships with international orthopaedic societies.
7. Suggest to the Committee on Publications and other appropriate committees the global innovators to enhance international content appeal of Academy print and electronic publications.
8. Among the US membership, help raise awareness of the value of expanded international initiatives to the health of the organization and improvements in musculoskeletal care worldwide.

For chair, two (2) years; eligible for one (1) additional two (2) year term
For Fellow members, two (2) years; eligible for one (1) additional two (2) year term.
For International Affiliate Member, two (2) years; not eligible for reappointment after the second year.
